Christmas at Morgan’s…

/ 16th December 2019

With the Christmas break almost upon us, it is the time of the year where we like to take a moment to say thank you to all of our staff for their hard work, and to all of our customers and suppliers for the loyal support over 2019.

Christmas time is always filled with joy and happiness but it is also a time for us to reflect on how we can help those less fortunate than ourselves. Instead of spending money on Christmas gifts and cards, we at Morgan Fuels decided to donate money to a number of charities in the hope we can help to spread a bit of Christmas joy.

We are pleased to share that this year we have chosen the following charities to support;

  • Irish Hospice Foundation
  • RNLI
  • Gateway Newry
  • The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust
  • Marie Curie
  • Newry Hospice
  • Solving Kids Cancer
  • Keep er lit for Kayden

Each of these charities helps people of all ages around our local community and across Northern Ireland.

Irish Hospice Foundation: Is a national charitable origination which was set up in 1986 and provides patients with the best care at end of life and practical support for their loved ones.

RNLI: Volunteer lifeboat crews provide 24-hour rescue service in the UK & Ireland, with seasonal lifeguards looking after people on busy beaches and flood rescue teams helping those affected with flooding.

Newry & Mourne District Gateway Club: The Gateway club believes in advancing the personal development of people with learning disabilities through social, recreational and cultural opportunities.

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust: The Kevin Bell trust aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died suddenly or through tragic circumstances back to Ireland.

Marie Curie: Marie Curie provides care and support for around 2,500 people and their families living with a terminal illness in Northern Ireland every year.

Newry Hospice: Is a dedicated charity, providing specialist palliative care to patients who have Cancer and other terminal illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and AIDS and to support their relatives and carers.

Solving Kids Cancer: Helps children and their family fight cancer neuroblastoma through helping to facilitate access to treatment that may not be available through the NHS and to help advance clinical research while also offering support to the family.

Keep er lit for Kayden: Is supporting 5 year old Kayden McKeown family during his treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) T Cell  in England. Raising much needed funds to enable Kayden’s parents to travel to England to be by his side as he undergoes this vital treatment, whilst also trying to provide as normal a life as they possibly can back home for Kayden’s two brothers.

We are honoured to supporting these local charities and causes.

From all the staff at Morgan Fuels, we would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
